“To confine our attention to terrestrial matters would be to limit the human spirit.” Stephen Hawking’s words rightly express the human desire to explore and learn. Students need to be guided to widen their horizon of understanding for not just our planet Earth but also look forward to the worlds of possibilities beyond our blue planet. The Astronomy Club of our school offers opportunities to the students in understanding the celestial bodies, their origin and changes along with the role of science in exploration and understanding the universe. Speakers from field of Space and Astronomy are invited to conduct sessions. Children are involved in space related activities like assembling the parts of a telescope and learning its functioning, understanding the science of building rockets by making the tiny versions of them, star-gazing sessions, etc.
